Steve Jones2024-01-09 08:04:032024-01-09 08:05:00I recorded this 45-second video at 8:25 AM on January 4, 2024, near the Marbut Bend Trailhead at TVA's Marbut Bend Preserve. We experienced a starkly beautiful cold (34 degrees) grey saunter through the winter-bleak wetlands and marshes. Birds flittered among the dormant vegetation foraging for winter berries and seeds. Listen for the rustle of dry stems and foliage, the twittering of birds, and the calls of a few socializing crows. Summer's stifling heat, sapping humidity, and bright sunshine make me ache for a morning just like this one.
